2023:Ogun appointees interested in contesting have till March 2 to indicate Interest
All political appointees in Ogun state interested in contesting for any elective post in the state have up till Wednesday March 2 to indicate their interest.
According to a circular Ref No SSG/ADM 22/1 addresses to all appointees in the state and signed by secretary to the state government,Tokunbo Talabi, titled Political Appointees with Political Ambition,dated February 26,it stated that in compliance with the rules and regulations guiding political appointees and the provision of Election guidelines as released by the Independent National Electoral Commission,INEC dated February 26 tagged “Timetable and Schedule of activities for 2023 general Election”, it stated that all.political appointees in the administration aspiring for political offices should indicate their disposition by registering their intention at the Special Desk created in the office of the secretary to the state government before close of work on Wednesday 2nd March,2022.
Besides,all aspirants are to await further directives on the way forward.
It will be recalled that the 2022 Electoral Amendment Bill sign into law by President Buhari last week stipulated that all political appointees should resign their positions before the party nominations.
