Detained ‘Super corp’,Abba Kyari and his accomplices are to be charged to court Monday.
Spokesperson of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA,Femi Babafemi disclosed this in a live Television Continental(TVC) Interview,Your View in Lagos .
He said that evidences have shown from investigations that Brazil a Latin America country is the base of those who have aided the drug ring in which Kyari and others are implicated.
Babafemi disclosed that the suspects will be arraigned as soon as the court fix a date for commencement of trial
On the alleged killing of five drugs suspects during the raid in Patey the den of the drug merchants weekend, he said from the account of the agency nobody died adding that his men had to shoot when the drug criminals resisted arrest by shooting at the agency’s men.
He said the story that five were killed by his men is not true but disinformation by the drug kingpins in collaboration with unscrupulous people in the social media.
In answer to a question he said there is no way the NDLEA would have used live bullets,”when the criminals are armed to the teeth”.
Babafemi said video recording showed that the drug barons actually ordered their men to shoot at the agency officials.
The NDLEA spokesman said further that the operation was carried out in the area after due information on the activities of the criminal drug merchants.
He also said that before such raids are carried out in any part of the country,the NDLEA often carry out sensitization programmes by involving traditional rulers,state and local government,media and other stakeholders since war against drug abuse could only be win through concerted efforts.
He said the agency couldn’t have done less with the fifteen million drug addicts on the street in the country.
