Catholic Bishop of Sokoto,Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah ,has asked Presidential aspirants to tell Nigerians how they want to Restructure the country in order to reintegrate the different nations in the country and bring it back from collapse.
Speaking Wednesday at the 8th Annual Public Lecture to mark 80th Birthday of Pastor Enoch Adeboye he said that the ruling elite has failed and asked them to rebuild confidence in the country.
He said for the country to achieve anything Nigeria must be restructured for the country to regain it’s confidence.
He called on leaders to be creative and imaginative in nation building adding,”farmers must be able to go to their farms without being kidnapped and children must go to school without fear of being kidnapped”.
Bishop Kukah accused the ruling elite of preparing the nation for chaos by its inability to ensure national cohesion but instead harbor a good moral deficit adding,”Our greedy elite are people whose greed has become insatiable”
Said he,”Why should it take decades for a President to sign Electoral Bill into law signing an electoral Bill has become so difficult”.
He also spoke of the need for government to invest more on Infrastructural development to ease the burden of the masses and create employment.
