2023:Tinubu others may decamp to SDP

Except there is a change of attitude and transparent leadership in the ruling All Progressives Congress,APC,the party may be in fora big rupture .
At the centre of this impending implosion is Asiwaju Bola Tinubu,former Lagos governor and one of the initiators of the APC in 2014.
Tinubu sources in th party and confirmed by inside sources in the seat of power said mat decamp to the Social Democratic Party,SDP to realise his life long ambition to win the Presidency.
His decision to leave it was gathered was informed by the way and manner the Mai Bala Buni,chairman of the Caretaker and Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee,CECPC has been going about marginalizing the Tinubu tendency in the party since the ouster of former National Chairman,Comrade Adams Oshiomole from leadership of the party.
It is believed that inability to hold the national convention of the party now thrice postponed is because of deliberate efforts by a powerful group in the party to frustrate Tinubu and his likes out of the party in order to enable the cabal close to the President choose it’s preferred candidate for the party’s various national offices and presidential candidate.
Our sources revealed that this powerful group is acting in concert with most of the sitting APC governors who wanted one of it’s own to be the party’s flagbearer.
Yet another group said to be loyal to vice president Yemi Osinbajo is toing the middle line and flow along the schemings among various contenders and power blocks in the party.
Tinubus decision will be taken when it is apparent that the composition of the delegates to the national convention which may nit hold earlier than August or September this year contrary to the new date of March 26 fixed on Monday.
As a result,Tinubu and his group are already talking to party chieftains from the middle belt who are said to be favourably disposed to his candidature while he is also said to be banking on Kano state governor,DrAbubakar Ganduje who has several times openly declared support for Tinubu.
Another reason the national convention is being shifted severally is to cause enough friction between Tinubu and Osinbajo such that by the time the candidate is chosen preferably from the South South followership of the party in the South West would have been divided between Tinubu and Osinbajo.
“They are also counting on the little impact the 2.5million votes from the SW which they are working to replace from South South should Tinubu eventually leaves the party as being expected.
When contacted one of the founding fathers of the party said the rumour remains “a hypothesis which is too early to contemplate for now”.
In preparation for his leaving the party,Tinubu has decided to continue his consultation in order to hold his followers and build enough structures to move into the SDP which has not been too active since the last general elections but still a registered political party by Independent National Electoral Commission,INEC.
It is not yet clear the plan B of vice president Yemi Osinbajo who as sitting vee pee may not need to resign to contest the election and on which party if he is denied the APC ticket.
It was also gathered that one of the reasons why Tinubu decided to start his campaign so early is to decipher the body language of both the President and the cabal and prepare for any eventualities.
“In spite of all I can assure you Asiwaju will be a candidate in next years election”said a source close to the APC leader.
