Since it was declared opened late December last year, the Omole Phase 11 where it is situated has not been the same again. Situated directly behind Polaris Bank branch on Omole Phase 11, Papa’s Corner has gingered up the environment. It has become one of the signature marks in the area.
A visit by this reporter to the place showed that it is more than what the media had reported. Simply put, it is a home, away from home.
From the entrance to the building, one is welcomed by the owner and its very couretious and ever smiling staff. One of the hallmarks of an entertainment place that means business.
As one steps inside, one is welcomed by a beautiful front office staff that ushers one into the the expansive bar that can seat a thousand people on a good day.
With a stage that can take any live band for live show, this was where this writer and others viewed the one goal all draw between Chelsea Football Club, that is gradually becoming a draw expert, with Brighton Football Club and the ouster of Ghana by unfancy Comoros Island from the on-going AFCON in Cameroon, simultaneously.

The bar at night
The stage is big enough to accommodate any musician for a live show. It is akin to what Femi Kuti has in his African Shrine. So musicians, especially the now generation ones in search of where to entertain his or her fans on a weekly basis, like the likes of King Sunny Ade did in Ariya Niteclub in the days of yore, Ebenezer Obey did at Miliki Spot, Osita Osadebe did at his hotel Onitsha, Abimbola Olaiya mesmerised us with his horns till he took his last breath on earth. Such musician(s) should look no further (like one America musician said) as the venue they search for is within. Happily and luckily, Bidemi Entertainment has taken the Friday slot for the entertainment of his guests. And since she berthed in Papa’s Corner a few weeks ago, it has always been a full house moreso, with maximum security the place enjoys.
From the stage area is the door leading to the VIP room, for those who do not want the preying eyes of members of the public. This place is as cold as a cold room and fitted with two large screen TVs, creamed coloured sofas and ‘life’ goes on inscription on the wall.

The VIP room
The guided facility tour also took me to the 10 rooms in the hotel, all named after the top teams in EPL, La Liga and Seria A. All fitted with larg screen televisions, and ACs. Because of the beauty of these room and it’s cozy nature, one will instantly feel like sleeping in there.
There are two other short rest rooms for those with ‘handbags’ apologies to NiteShift Coliseum Gov’nor, Mr. Ken-Calebs Olumese. They also come with ACs and televisions like what obtains in the former My Home at Omole Phase one.
Another area of interest is the kitchen, which is manned by an Akwa Ibom woman chef that prepares finger licking delicious menus and can fed a 1000 guests at a sitting.
Electricity supply is 24/7 as there are two standby generators. There is borehole for clean water.

Habib Aruna, CEO, Papa’s Corner
In the words of the owner, ” our bar is good for parties, ala birthdays, wedding receptions, meetings, press conferences, name it. We are praying and hoping that one of the churches can also come in,” he said.
