There are covert moves in several quarters to save the marriage of Queen Naomi to the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi .
Top aides hinted late Thursday of moves by traditional chiefs and leaders of Ife land moved fast to douse the tension created by the notice of divorce by Olori Naomi Silekunola Ogunwusi.
The queen had on Thursday announced it was over between her and the monarch who is into his second marriage since ascending the throne in 2015.
While media aide to the monarch, Moses Olafare said the divorce saga was a social media rumour, it was gathered that the media notice which went viral had unsettled the palace on Thursday as many called to find out the true situation of things.
NPO Reports gathered that Olori Naomi had indeed expressed her frustrations several times over different issues.
It was learnt that her open media declaration on Thursday was a warning note to make stakeholders intervene in what is considered to a boiling royal matrimonial home.
“I don’t think she is actually desirous of quitting the marriage. But I guess she is frustrated,” said a close ally of the monarch.
“May be she felt she has explored all avenues to be taken serious and she met frustrations. This could perhaps be the only way for her to get help and make those who can get the Oba to realize his mistakes. I think it is a redeemable situation,” the ally who preferred anonymity told NPO Reports on phone
It was learnt that as at late night Thursday, those who matter had reached out to the Olori and the monarch to commence the process of reconciliation.
“People will soon seen them together publicly,” said the ally
She had written on Thursday, “I did my best to endure and make it work; many times, I smiled through the struggle, but I have finally realised I had just one assignment, my son, and when God is done, He is done. He chose Saul to be king, and when He was done, He told the prophet Samuel I have moved on. Religion was never an issue between us; please refer to my interview on News Central TV. Instead, His Majesty has a picture he would love the world to see and perceive him as and another one which is his true self.”
In her declaration through her instagram page, Silekunola wrote, “Today I announce the beginning of a new dawn and the close of a chapter. Today, I am a mother to God’s unique gift. I am no longer a slave to my thoughts of perfection. I, at this moment, announce that I shall no longer be referred to as wife to the Ooni of Ife or as Queen of Ile-Ife but as the Queen of the people and mother of my adorable Prince.”
