Sign Electoral Bill to fulfill your promise of credible elections, Peter Obi tells Buhari

Former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, on Tuesday ask President Muhammadu Buhari to sign into law the amended Electoral Bill to fulfill his promise of giving the nation credible election before leaving office.

Obi, who spoke in an interview on Arise Television in his reaction to the reported rejection of direct primaries, said Buhari made a promise to Nigerians to bequeath to them a culture of credible election.

“President Buhari made a promise to Nigerians. Let him fulfill that promise,” Obi said on Arise Tv on Tuesday.

His comment came amidst Nigerians waiting for the letter said to have been written to the National Assembly where he stated reasons why he would not sign the electoral bill.

Obi said reasons cited by the President are not tenable adding that in an age of technology, Nigeria cannot be talking of cumbersome exercise.
