The General Manager of Plateau United Football Club of Jos, Pius Henwan has challenged the team to begin the 2021/2022 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season with a victory.
Henwan stated this while addressing players and coaches shortly before the team’s departure to Ilorin to face Niger Tornadoes of Minna in the MatchDay 1 fixture slated for this Sunday.
He reminded the players that the process of winning the league begins now and a victory in this first encounter is a giant step towards achieving that target.
” The journey to success begins with the first step and as such, you people should have that at the back of your mind that a victory in this match will do our ambition a lot of good”, he remarked.
The General Manager admonished the players not to be complacent by under-rating their opponents stressing that minnows no longer exist in the Nigerian league any more.
He urged the players to imbibe the culture of discipline as the league kicks off and avoid acts capable of affecting them negatively, noting that without discipline nothing tangible can be achieved.
Henwan assured the players that management of the team under his leadership will work hard to ensure that their welfare is properly taken care of and advised them to remain focused on their quest to win the league title.
