Victor Esiet (r) with Robbie Sharespare
I am so saddened by the news that my brother and friend, Robbie Shakespeare (of Sly and Robbie fame), has passed. I will forever cherish the memories of the time we spent working together both at Paramount Studios Hollywood California and stage at the Roxy Theatre, Inner Circle’s Circle House studios Miami, Florida, the support you and Sly have given to me to help my carrier internationally, I will forever remain grateful.
You and Sly have been among Jamaica’s greatest musicians that Jah has blessed so much that every song you touched rang like a bell. I am so glad to have had you and Sly behind me making it possible to have taken my career to the next level. Thank you for your love. Robbie, your loss will be felt in the Reggae community and music industry across the globe and you will be greatly missed.
My condolences to my brother Sly, your wife and children and the entire family. I love you Robbie, May your soul Rest In Power peacefully at the bosom of the most High Jah. May Jah watch over Sly, and all the members of your family you have left behind. Selah!
Farewell me Bredda, Robbie Shakespeare.
