Arrangements have been concluded for the 11th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Nigeria’s biggest copyright collective management organization, Copyright Society of Nigeria Ltd/Gte (COSON), which holds on Tuesday December 14, 2021 at 2.00 pm.
According to COSON General Counsel and Head of Legal, Barrister Simi Wash Pam, the AGM will receive, consider, approve and adopt the audited financial statements of the society for the year ended December 31, 2020 and the report of the Auditors thereon. The AGM will also consider the position of the auditors and make changes where necessary and authorize the directors to determine the remuneration of the auditors. Furthermore, the AGM will elect or re-elect deserving members of the Board.
Already, the notice of the meeting and the 2020 Annual Report & Accounts booklet of the society has been sent to each of the thousands of members of COSON across Nigeria. Due to the Covid 19 pandemic, the meeting will be held online and log-in details have been provided in the notice of meeting.
COSON is proud that the upcoming AGM is the 11th in the eleven years of the existence of the society with the AGM holding each year without fail. Consistent with COSON’s commitment to transparency and accountability to its members, every AGM has received the corresponding audited accounts of the society with the members given unfettered opportunity to consider, debate, approve and adopt the financial statements, making COSON the most transparent organization in the history of the Nigerian creative industry.
