Elder statesman,Chief Niyi Adegbenro, has called on leaders of conscience all over the country to come together to arrest the ship of state before it is too late to save the country.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Newdawnngr.com in his Abeokuta residence,he said from the way things are going in the country,only God can save Nigeria.
Said he,”Nigeria is suffering and we have all contributed in one way or the other to bring Nigeria to where it is today.Let men of goodwill arise,come together and save Nigeria before 2023 elections”.
The son of first republic Premier of Western region,Chief Dauda Soroye Adegbenro, said that all the old generation and all Nigerians in particular have all sinned against God from the way they managed the country and allow it to go down over the years.
He urged all political and office holders to do the right thing at the right time in their respective offices and positions to prevent the country from going under.
“We have not been focused in the way we do our things.everybody is guilty of bringing the country to this level including me”he declared.

He however advise President Muhammadu Buhari to leave a legacy for the country by doing what is right and purge it of the divisive tendencies which is pulling the country apart.
He advised the president to use the period between now and the next election to correct all the anomalies in the system, correct the past mistakes ,do the right thing and pull the country together to save it before the next elections.
Chief Adegbenro who is a one time commissioner in Ogun state and chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party,PDP urge the country to return to parliamentary system of government to reduce the cost of government,control the excesses of political office holders and get more accountable to the people.
According to him, the present crop of politicians leaders have failed the more as they are more interested in what they want to make from the system.
This attitude, he said, is unlike what prevailed in the first and second republic when politics was about service to the people.

Chief Adegbenro called on the youths to stand up and correct the ills of today which he said was perpetrated by the leaders at all levels adding,”one is surprised that the youths have not been able to assume leadership from the old generation which has failed the people.is it for lack of finance or the guts to come forward and do the right thing.”
On the level of societal decay,he said the fight against corruption has been one sided as all those who have one case or the other to answer are always forgiven the moment they join the party in power.
As a result, he said the present government has continue to harbor all the elements who pulled down the previous government.
