Collapsed 21-storey building: Structural Consultant withdraw from site last year

Facts have emerged that one of the engineers contracted to supervise the collapsed 21-storey building actually withdrew from the project last year.
The letter of withdrawal addressed to the sponsor of the Project, Mr Femi Osibona was written and signed by the Managing Director of Prowess Engineering ,Muritala Olawale.

In the letter dated 20 February 2020,the company,informed the promoter of the building of the fact that it did not share the vision with the promoter with regard to how the project is being implemented.
It stated further that while it can guarantee the work done on the first two buildings and also up to the fourth floor of the third building supervised by it provided specifications have been met in terms of the required concrete strength.
It stayed further that it did not have control as it did not have the concrete cube test result for each stage of the building till date.
Said he,”Also kindly note that we are not taking responsibility for any other construction errors that may have occured over time on the project”.,
The company also requested that it’s name and logo be removed from the project board ,”and also kindly notify all necessary approving authorities of our withdrawal from the project”.
