Corruption: Ganduje’s first son flees Nigeria after exposing mother to EFCC
…..Vows not to return until father leaves office.
Abdulazeez Ganduje, the first son of Kano Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, is said to have fled to Egypt with his family after reporting his mother to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged corruption.
It will be recalled that, the young man had dragged his mum, Hafsat Ganduje, to the EFCC, other sources familiar with the case said, suggesting a pattern of corruptly using family access to power for enrichment.
According to a source, “Abdulazeez and his family left Nigeria for Egypt shortly after filing the petition. He stated that he will remain there until the father leaves office. He has left his parents and gone underground since the beginning of the crisis.”
As at when gathering this report, Governor Ganduje had yet to comment on the issue that has made a public mess of his family.
According to the Daily Nigerian Newspaper, the governor’s son left the country immediately after filing the petition to avoid the “wrath of his parents.”
Reports also have it that his mother had turned down an invitation from the anti-graft agency to come in for questioning, over a bribery and land fraud case reported by her son allegedly claiming immunity.
