Youth Care Project: Clinic at Your Door Step- Community healthcare initiative in Ayobo

In it’s effort aimed at contributing to a healthy community through expanding the scope of health care in the country,Youth Care Project,a non government organisation Friday organized a stakeholders meeting at Ayobo/Alimosho local government secretariat with a view to reviewing its activities for the past years and prepare the Community, local health workers and other stake holders for another round of health interventions in Lagos state.

Speaking at the event,Coordinator if the Youth Care Project,the NGO which berthed the Clinic at Your Doorstep,Nike Okunrinmeta, spoke of lack of knowledge and inadequate and sincere information on most health issues most especially Hypertension, Diabetes and Malaria which according to research are the common diseases and the treatment.Hevsaidvtgey are often misunderstood with regard to causes,prevention and treatment.
She said that the programme,Clinic At Your Doorstep was launched in Lagos,Ogun and Ondo state with a view to reduce the death rates among these diseases and fir people to know the health implications of the health ailments.

Adenine revealed that this three diseases have been foremost in threatening the health of Nigerians in particular and Africa in general .
The advocacy event which has councillors and local health workers in attendance was also intended to mobilize the stakeholders,local government and community associations to enable their subjects to embrace the initiative to enable citizenry have access to good drugs at relatively cheaper rate of $1 dollar per client and it’s overall benefits to the general populace.


The Initiative according to Okunrinmeta, is also intended to promoting health, narrowing the gaps and reducing inequalities in the society.
In his speech,the Medical Officer fir the local government,Dr Agboola spoke of efforts to review the programme as part of efforts to achieve the Millennium Development Goals of the government.
He spoke of efforts to collaborate with NGOs like the YCP in order to achieve the set goals.
In this regard,he spoke of efforts to set up a framework that will guide and set the directions that will guide and define mechanisms for accountability and transparency of the Youth Care Project in communities.
