A pro-Buhari group; Buhari Youth Vanguard (BYV), has called on President Muhammadu Buhari, to ignore calls for the sack of the Minister, Niger Delta Affairs Ministry, Senator Godswill Akpabio, from some discredited and corrupt politicians and contractors.The group said the calls and sponsored media attacks on the Minister, before, during and even after the forensic audit exercise, were expected in a situation like this, but we know that the Minister is equal to the task. In the coming days more attacks on his image would cone to the fore.
In a 4 page statement signed by its National Chairman, Barrister Ladan Funtua, the group said,” while we have nothing but commendations for the courageous step your Hon Minister for Niger Delta Affairs is taking to confront the corruption virus ravaging the NDDC.
” We demand urgent arrests and prosecution of suspected corrupt politicians and erstwhile public officials who are involved with multiple corrupt cases in order to reduce exactly the lethal clutches of this scourge corruption.”
