The meeting yesterday between Rtd. Commodore Kunle Olawunmi at the Defense Intelligence yesterday, went well according to his lawyer,Femi Falana who accompanied him to the DIA headquarter.
Said he; “It was a friendly chat between Commodore Kunle Olawunmi and his colleagues. The chat
ended well.'”
He also disclosed that he was allowed to represent the retired naval commander.
Said he,”I was allowed to represent the retired military officer during the friendly chat in strict compliance with the provisions of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act.”
It will be recalled that the retired Naval chief was summoned by the DIA last Thursday to appear before it to throw more light into the revelations he made during an interview he granted Channel TVs Arise programme last Tuesday.
The comments he made about the compromise of the nations security system and lukewarm war against insurgency attracted comments from cross section of the society.
Indeed,a group of youths from the North gave President Muhammadu Buhari two weeks ultimatum to respond to the allegations that top officials of his government are the backers of the insurgency by Boko Haram and other militant groups in the country.
