The Nigerian Broadcasting Commission,NBC,has sent a letter to the Management of Channels Television over what it claims was an infraction of it’s broadcast license.
In the letter titled Notice of Infraction and dated August 24,2021 and addressed to the Managing Director of Channels Television, and signed by its Director General Balarabe Shehu Llelah,the NBCsaud the interview programme titled Sunrise Daily which featured the Benue state Governor,Samuel Ortom contained some divisive,inciting and unfair comments which were not thoroughly interrogated by the anchors.
It stated that this negates six provisions of the National Broadcasting Code(see attached).
As a result it gave Channels 24 hours why appropriate sanctions shall not be taken against it.
