Former Governor of Abia State, Theodore Orji, was on Thursday arrested at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja.
He was arrested by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission over allegations that he mismanaged funds allegedly belonging to the state when he served as the Governor.
His son, Chinedu who is the Speaker of the House of Assembly also submitted himself to the commission after he learnt that his father had been arrested and taken to the headquarters of the commission.

A petition at the commission is said to have alleged that Orji embezzled the sum of N500 million monthly security vote he received for eight years as governor of Abia state between 2007 and 2015.
He is also being alleged to have mismanaged N2bn Ecological Fund.
