Ezeife to lead Ohanezes delegation to Kanu’s trial
The solidarity Sunday Igboho has been receiving from some Nigerians, especially from his fellow Yorubas, may have jolted the Ohanaeze into action to openly throw their weight behind their son, the Indigenous People’s of Birafra leader, Maxi Nnamdi Kanu, what has been in prison custody since he was smuggled into the country recently.
Both Kanu and Igboho have been agitating for a separate nation for their people, though, in a different strategy. While Igboho has been mainly peaceful in his demand, that of Kanu and his IPOB has been a bit violent recently, especially in Imo State.
Based on that, majority of his Igbo brothers and sisters had distanced themselves from IPOB and it’s demand for Biafra Republic, hinging their reason on the fact that Kanu from the outset had been making inflammatory statements, has no respect for any Igbo, young or old, had organised the manhandling of a top Igbo man in Germany, the ex-Senate Deputy President, Ekwerenmadu, among other things.
With the recent directive of the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Professor George Obiozor, who has appointed Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife to lead the Ohanaeze delegation to the trial of IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, all of alleged Kanu’s may have been forgiven him.
The National Legal Adviser, Bar Joseph Ojobu and myself, Chief Goddy Uwazurike, will be the lawyers representing Ohanaeze on a watching brief.
The court is expected to sit on Monday, July 26, 2021,in Abuja.
Nnamdi Kanu was arrested June 29, 2021 in a covert operation through the help of the interpol.
