Scores of Yoruba Nation agitators were seen on Wednesday at a Benin Republic Appeal Court (Palais De Justice, Cour D’Appel De Cotonou) in Cotonou to give solidarity and moral support to Chief Sunday Adeyemo (Sunday Igboho).
He was said to have been taken to court over his presence in the country as a transit traveller.
Singing Yoruba anthem, they were seen expressing solidarity and shouting “No going back on Yoruba Nation”, “Igboho Oosa is our hero”, “General Buhari is a dictator”, “We are tired of Buhari and his Fulani killers”.
Sunday Igboho was to be arraigned in the court possibly towards his extradition to Nigeria.
He was arrested on Monday night with his German wife, Ropo, at the Cotonou Airport on his way to Germany.
Some lawyers were also seen at the court premises.
Security agents were strategically deployed to maintain peace.
