….Alleges cheating
A serving Nigerian soldier, identified as Jay Matol, has allegedly raped and killed his girlfriend, Ugadu Jennifer.
Reasons for his murderous instinct,it was gathered was over allegations of cheating preferred against the victim. Jennifer, a 200 level student of Niger Delta University (NDU), in Bayelsa State, was on Sunday, June 11, reportedly found dead in her apartment. Multiple stab injuries and bullet wounds were found on her body.
According to deductions from the murder scene, the deceased was killed after a long and fierce struggle with her killer.
Matol allegedly cut off her finger in what is assumed to be a part of the torture he put her through, before leaving her in the pool of her own blood.
She was said to have been shot in the back; and was found dead days after she was killed. Her body was already decomposing when she was found.
The reports also claimed that police operatives confirmed that the bullets found on her were not local bullets.
It was gathered that a close friend of the deceased disclosed that her boyfriend, Jay, had been abusing her over allegations of cheating.
The soldier was also said to have used her phone to confess to the crime; and went further to threaten to commit suicide in her school department’s WhatsApp group.
