President Muhammadu Buhari’s nominee as Independent National Electoral Commission’s job, Lauretta Onochie on Thursday, disowned the All Progressive Congress,APC.
Grilled and accused of being partisan and a member of the APC, Onochie, while answering questions before lawmakers during the screening exercise, said she only came under attacks because she is “Madam Due Process.”
“Since Buhari was elected as president for the second term, I have removed myself from everything about politics.
“Since 2019, I don’t have anything to do with politics. As I am sitting down here, I am not a member of any political party in this country.” She said
While senators such as Opeyemi Bamidele spoke in support of her nomination, the likes of Ike Ekweremadu urged Onochie to reject her nomination.
