A group under the agies of Tangale Community for Peace Forum (TCPF) in Gombe State has advised the Tangale Community Development Association (TCDA), to get their facts straight on the issues surrounding the ‘Mai Tangle’ traditional stool in Gombe State.
TCPF said the curfew imposed four months ago by the State government as a result of the face-off and violence which erupted in Billiri Local Government Area of the State, as a result of the emergance of a new Mai Tangle monarch, has been since relaxed on the 29th of March, 2021.
The group was responding to a press conference held by TCDA where they alleged that the State Governor, Mohammad Yahaya, has sustained the curfew which has since become counter-productive.
“Get your facts right: you cannot stay in Jos and know what is happening in Gombe”, TCPF said in a response to the press conference.
The group in a press statement sent to our correspondent in Jos on Sunday, said the curfew has since been relaxed between 12 mid night to 6am.
“What will anyone be doing outside by mid night?”, TCPF quarried.
The statement signed by TCPF spokesman, Elder Samaila John, advised one Dr. Daniel Maddo and his friends who organised the press conference not to ignite another round of crisis in the State.
Maddo had also in the press conference as published by some news medium alleged that despite the curfew, women and children were being kidnapped and raped.
Challenging the assertion however, TCPF urged Mado to mention the names and dates when the people were abducted.
“Mado and his friends who are
operating from diaspora, if they are sincere should mention names and dates when the people were abducted”.
Our correspondent however recalls that on the 11th of January 2021, the 15th Mai Tangle, HRH Abdu Buba Maisheru II died and was buried which led to the search for who would succeed him.
Members of the ruling houses indicated interest and at the end of the day, 18 contestants emerged, which consequently led to the selection of three candidates as produced by an election from the Kingmakers, on February 15, 2021.
Out of the three who got votes, however, Alh. Danladi Sanusi Maiyamba was favoured to emerge as the Mai Tangle whom has since assumed office, our correspondent confirmed.
Affirming his emergance, TCPF said Alh. Danladi Sanusi Maiyamba is undoubtedly a Tangaleman who was screened and cleared by the Kingmakers for the Mai Tangale stool, Danladi popularly know as “Maiyamba” served gombe State meritoriously for 35 years without any stain before his retirement.
TCDA has however fault the emergence of Maiyamba asking him to stop parading himself as the Mai Tangle, accusing the Governor of imposition, an accusation which is laughable by TCPF.
“The Kingmakers accordingly handed over the result of the selection to the Deputy Governor who witnessed the process in company of the Commissioner for Local Government and chieftaincy Affairs.
“Why not hold the Deputy Governor, Manassah Jatau, who chaired and
conducted the selection, rather than accusing Governor Inuwa who has given the Tangale People fifteen (15)
powerful positions in his government.
“Dr. Daniel Maddo and his friends betrayed Governor Inuwa
because of their selfishness. The world must know this before they plunge Billiri into another chaos.
“They have their children Schooling and working abroad, they must stop misleading innocent Tangale
People”.
TCPF however called on Tangale elders to make haste to stop Maddo desperation to spread hatred among the Tangale People who are one family irrespective of religion and party affiliation.

The writers of this response are an example of what we call hungry ingrates who have chosen to dine with the oppressors for a morsel of bread. Thank God the Tangale people know what is on ground and can never be swayed by some unidentifiable elements who are only sponsored to create confusion.
Woe onto him that betrays his brother for his personal gains.
Samaila John wait for your reward.
