The Director General of Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency and wife of immediate past Commissioner  and Attorney- General for Justice, Delta State, Joan Onyeamechi Mrakpor on Friday 18th June  2021 ordered the immediate arrest of a journalist Linus  Okolo, an Assistant Editor with South South International Magazine, an investigative publication that was established in 2006 to bring public officials accountable to the public amongst other social responsibility functions of the media

The arrest is coming hours after Okolo,  placed a   call to Mrs. Mrakpor on Thursday requesting for her response  to  an investigative story, which concerns her office as the  Director General, Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency.

Superintendent  Dimka of Eagle net dept, Police headquarters, Asaba confirmed to some reporters in Asaba  that the journalist was actually  in their custody  following a petition written against the journalist  by Mrs. Mrakpor, ordering  his immediate arrest .

According to him, the petition is on defamation of character.
Efforts to reach the Police Public Relations Officer and Commissioner of Police in Delta State as at the time of filing this story on Friday at 7.45pm were abortive.

Meanwhile when our reporter contacted Mrakpor on the development she responded, ” I don’t know why anyone will link me to cattle rearing at this point in time. I petitioned the police and they invited us today. I petitioned the police base of false accusation and other things.”
