Sultan, Shekarau, others pleads for unity at symposium

Some selected Muslim leaders across the country have all spoken in a symposium organised to proffer solutions to the problem besetting the country.

Speakers who spoke at the event tagged “Threat to the Unity of the Ummah and the future of Nigeria, Citizenship and Nationhood” all bade for unity of all Nigerians.

The event which was held at the Conference Centre in Abuja, had in presence of the Sultan of Sokoto, Saad Abubakar, Former governor of Kano State Rabiu Kwankwaso.

Others are Former INEC Commissioner, Dr. Hakeem Baba Ahmed, Kano Businessman and Opponent of MKO Abiola in 1993 presidential election, Bashir Tofa.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Hakeem Baba Ahmed who is the lead presenter, spoke on the management of diversification. He advised Nigerians to maintain unity in order to achieve a common goal.

According to him, “No achievement comes from destruction”

Baba Ahmed said the current insecurity confronting the South-East is a clamour for President in 2023.

He called on the southeast leaders to seek help and embrace uniformity with all Nigerians.

Ahmed Baba who is the Director of Publicity for the Northern Elders’ Forum bemoaned how Nigerians have divided themselves over call for secession noting that the colonial masters left the footprints of unity before they handed over the machinery of the state to us.
