Substitute Oladapo Alabi’s 68th minute effort was enough for MFM FC to hand visiting Dakkada a 1-0 defeat at the Agege Township Stadium, Lagos.
Alabi was on hand to finish a sublime cross from captain Adeyinka Najeem to hand the Church Boys all maximum points.
The hosts started brightly with series of opportunities, but goalkeeper Loveday Anugbuo responded well in the opening moments of the game.
Dakkada also had their chances with Isaac George and captain Aniekan Ekpe also threatening the MFM defence but their efforts were to no avail.
They threatened late on, but MFM were perfect in the defence till the final moment, though they had a scare as goal scorer Oladayo Alabi was stretchered off.
His injury would not change the score line though as the Church Boys ran away with the slim victory.
