Biafra: Sit-at-Home Order bites harder as residents desert streets of Of Owerri, Enugu, Aba other South-East states

There is almost total compliance with the sit-at-home order in the South-East states as residents on Monday left the streets of the state capitals.

Popular markets, junctions, parks and businesses shut down for the day as the order took effect in all the major cities.

Owerri, which has been hotbed of the resistance against the Nigerian government saw many roads deserted.

The same situation persisted in Enugu as traders closed shops to obey the order.

Leader of the Independent People of Biafra Nnamdi Kanu was seen rejoicing over the total compliance. He said the South East is free at last.

At the Aroma Junction in Awka, Anambra State, the bridge was totally deserted.
The Enugu-PortHarcourt Expressway in Aba was a ghost town.

The popular Ariaria Market was totally deserted as no one was in sight .
