Enyimba return to winning ways, add to Wikki worries

Wikki Tourist winless run continued after they were overwhelmed 2-1 by Enyimba International in a Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) MatchDay 23 game played midweek in Bauchi.

The result meant Wikki have lost all games since resumption from the mid season break. It is also their fourth home defeat of the season.

Ruben Bala gave the visitors the lead but Stephen Gopey restored parity in the first half before Tosin Omoleye restored the lead in the second half and they held on to return to winning ways.
Both teams came into the game with a poor run lately and the hunger for success was written all over the teams as they started on a high with flying tackles.
Emmanuel Ampiah and Francis Uchenna were booked so early for rough tackles.
At the quarter hour mark, Reuben Bala turned in Tosin Omoleye pass, the forward almost got his brace a minute later after his effort hit the bar.
Ismail Maiyaki had a chance to level but his shot flew over the bar. However in the 32nd minute,, Noble rose and palmed Guda’s cross, the ball then hit the cross bar to Stephen Gopey who nodded into an empty net.
Omoleye and Bala combination almost yielded another goal just before the break but the chance was shot over by Bala.
Just before the second half both team made changes. Promise Damala was withdrawn for Manu Garba while Enyimba brought in Oliseme and Adebayo in place of  Alalibo and Abubakar.
Anayo Iwuala who’s presence had given worries to the home midfield eventually created a chance for Omoleye to restore the lead. That was on the 67th minute.
Enyimba who were forced to replace captain  Dare Olatunji after he picked a knock, have their goalkeeper to thank after he made a stoppage time save, denying substitute Manu Garba.
