…To unite Nigeria, Buhari has to implement confab report before 2023-Afenifere
Benue state governor, Samuel Ortom, has said that those against the resolution of the southern governors on ban in open grazing in the country have ulterior motives.
According to the governor, the Northern governors forum has as at 2016 accepted that ranching is the best form of cattle farming and conform with global best practise all over the world and wondered why some politicians are criticising his southern counterparts .
He said some other state governors in the northern parts of the country share the same belief so I wonder what is the motive of those criticising the governors.
“I am with them all the way as the best thing to do to guarantee peace between herders and farmers as done in Zimbabwe,Botswana and other African countries”.he declared
Governor Ortom maintained that open ranching remains the viable option to return peace to the country.
In the same vein, Leader of Yoruba Socio cultural group,Afenifere,Chief Ayo Adebanjo has said that the best legacy President Buhari can do t unite the country is to implement the 2014 confab report if he is desirous of leaving behind a legacy.
At a meeting of the group Friday, he praised the southern governors for their stand on open grazing and restructuring adding that without this lasting peace could not occur in the country.
Said he,”if president Buhari is sincere let him implement the report of the 2014 national confab as this is d easiest way to bring unity to the country and douse the agitation for secession.”
