…You sold away your conscience when it mattered most.
You surrendered your parliamentary power for the slavish embrace of stone age dictator on the altar of partisanship, pecuniary, slavish loyalty, religion and ethnic consideration when it mattered most.
So, weep not Senate.
It’s too late to cry when your honour is far gone.
A Senate that confirmed in a jiffy the ambassadorial postings of failed Services Chiefs who were rewarded by a failed president does not need to cry but to die of shame because the blood of thousands of innocent citizens and gallant military officers that died is in your hands for reinforcing failure.
To confirm for unmerited ambassadorial reward those services chiefs the senate itself had condemned severally for non-performance and even called for their sack was the height of timidity, indiscretion, lacking conscience and patriotism.
Confirming an Army Chief, the Butcher of Zaria who ordered the killing of over 300 shiites and under whose command Nigerian youths were felled and maimed to the blank & live and live & blank bullets of lying soldiers in Lekki Massacre made the senate an accomplice to mass murder. Shame on you!
Why is the senate now probing fund allocation to the armed forces after confirming the service chiefs who are now frolicking in foreign lands? A case of brandishing the blurred mace when the thieves have gone.
Weep not senate because it’s too late to cry after your honour and parliamentary powers are far far gone and buried in the hollow chamber.
You turned the hallow chamber to a hollow chamber where the president’s failure is reinforced. Where were you all when your shameless leader announced to the surprised citizenry that the hollow chamber would approve any bill or any loan request brought before it by the president? Stop weeping now after your honour is gone.
The signs were early enough that Buhari was leading the nation astray with his obvious gross incompetence. But you chose dubious silence when you should be roaring like lions to save Nigeria and Nigerians from a blank, arrogant president who is painting the nation red with blood of innocent citizens forced to fight an avoidable war of economic, ethnic and religious dimensions.
With your negligence and fear you glorified the president’s arrogant aristocratic aloofness when citizens were wailing for survival.
The ritualisation of idiocy and glorification of failure did not start today in the hollow chamber, so why are you now crying when your parliamentary honour is gone?
Now that the bandits and Boko Haram are becoming a parallel government, killing, maiming and kidnapping for ransom with renewed vigour and closing in on you and your families, you decided to cry than to sack the suprene Emperor of Nigeria whose promise of change felt flat on his face due to incompetence and insincerity of purpose beyond provincialism.
Don’t give us a crocodile cry because you failed to intervene at the appropriate time. It’s the citizens that should cry for the senate for putting lily-livered dishonorable men and wonen in position of authority.
So, weep not senate because your crocodile tears won’t bring back to life thousands of Nigerians sent to early grave by terrorists and bandits, or for millions that have been displaced to get succour.
Nigerians voted for change from the bad past only to meet a worse future in a worse figure of failure. Yet the senate did not provide them the timely shoulder to weep on in their agonizing period of wailing and needs.
So keep your tears and act now, if you can, and send the president home for his huge failure to secure the nation and citizens he sworn to guarantee their security and welfare.
Every single soul lost to insecurity, unemployment and hunger cries for justice. Act now and stop your crocodile tears after your honour is gone and you have surrendered your parliamentary power to an evasive, invisible, heartless and blank president or is it the presidency? Shame!
