…You’re agents of change, Says Provost

The Lagos State University College of Medicine has inducted 17 medical doctors to add to the states human resources in the filed of medicine and influence much needed change.

The Acting Provost of the College, Prof. Abiodun Adewuya, made this call Friday at the induction ceremony of the 15th set (Batch B) Medical Doctors.

“You have great power and great power comes with more responsibilities. You have the power to influence change; change for your patients, change for your colleagues and change for your community”, he said.

He further admonished the doctors to always put the needs of their patients ahead of their personal comfort.

While congratulating the doctors for mission accomplished in the face of Covid-19 challenges, he advised them to always be good ambassadors of the College wherever they found themselves.

Speaking at the event, the Induction Medical Elder, Prof Yomi Ogun urged the doctors to shun pride and uphold dignity and confidence.

He challenged the new doctors to always be hungry for knowledge and be willing to acquire new skills

He explained that medical profession is a prestigious and noble profession, hence doctors most always empathise with their patients.

He committed the young doctors into the hands of God to guide and see them through their endeavors.

In his vote of thanks, the College Secretary, Mr Adelaja Oyebanjo, expressed his gratitude to every member of staff, who had in one way or the other contributed to the success of the induction.

He thanked both the present and the past provosts for the successes of College projects over the years.
