NFVCB gets acting CEO

The Honourable Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, has approved the interim appointment of the most senior Director of the Board, Mrs Olayemi Alonge Oyadiran, as the Acting Executive Director/CEO of the National Film and Video Censors Board, in line with Public Service Rules and extant Circulars on the subject matter, following the expiration of the tenure of Alhaji Adedayo Thomas in March 2021.

The Director of Operations, Mr Ferdinand Abua, who has been overseeing the Office of the Executive Director/CEO while Mrs Oyadiran was away on approved study leave, officially transferred the baton of authority to her at an emergency management meeting, comprising Directors and Heads of Departments and Units, held today at the conference room, Board’s headquarters.

She holds a M.A in African Languages & Literature and has garnered experiences that transverses the public and private sectors, spanning over 29 years. She is a pioneer staff of the National Film and Video Censors Board, and was the head of NFVCB Ibadan Preview Centre from 2003 to 2017. She was also Director of Film Censorship and Classification, at a time, while holding various positions with key management decisions and exerting significant impact on the Board’s recorded successes so far. Until the latest announcement, she was the Director, Planning Research and Statistics, DPRS of the Board.

Mrs Oyadiran has been directed to Oversee and perform the functions of the Office of the Executive Director/CEO of the Board pending the appointment of a substantive Executive Director/CEO by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
