This is another week of national strike as lecturers in government-owned Polytechnics in Nigeria have grounded academic activities in campuses as the leadership of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) on Tuesday commenced an indefinite strike.

President of the union, Anderson Ezeibe, announced this at a press briefing in Abuja on Tuesday morning.

Members of the union, he said, have agreed to shut all the Nigerian Polytechnics until their demands are met.

This is coming despite the Federal Government’s move to avert strike action in polytechnics.
