…Says no development without peace
National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), on Friday urged youths in the country to shun violent acts in order to contribute to societal development and growth.
He reiterated the importance of a peaceful polity as the only avenue to achieve development, which is the essence of governance.
Tinubu who spoke during the occasion of the inauguration of the Agege Pen-Cinema Bridge in Lagos State warn Nigerian youths on the negative implication of violence, stating that such would always lead to destruction and disruption.
Tinubu, himself, former Governor of Lagos State, who enthused after a street in the vicinity was named after him, admonished they youths to always communicate their grievances to the government without violence and disruption of peace.
Hear him: “Don’t copy vagabonds and those who are into thuggery. There is no development if there is no peace. We must encourage peace. The government will ensure that you get the right education. Education is an investment in your future.
“Destruction and disruption will not help you to reach the destination you desire to reach. We will support your aspirations but help the state, ensure peace in our state and country.”
Showering encomiums on Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who eventually delivered the project, commenced during the administration of his predecessor, Akinwunmi Ambode, Tinubu, said he was quite elated that he was able to continue doing great things in the state despite the COVID-19 outbreak ravaging the world, including the state.
A visibly happy Tinubu, who spoke amidst jubilations by the audience, added: “Despite the turbulence and crisis of the virus, the lockdown, you are able to continue to deliver this state. You have shown great determination as a government.”
