The Zamfara Sate House of Assembly has passed a vote of my NY no confidence on the National Security Adviser(NSA)Major General Babagana Monguno over the state of insecurity in the state.
The decision was contained in a press release by the public relations officer of the assembly,Mustapha Jafar Kaura ,Thursday.

ZAMFARA STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY YESTERDAY PASSED VOTE OF NO CONFIDENCE ON THE NATIONAL SECURITY ADVISER (RTD) MAJOR GENERAL BABAGANA MUNGONU FOR HIS POOR HANDLING OF SECURITY ISSUES IN THE STATE AS THE HOUSE ALSO RECOMMENDS TO THE STATE GOVERNMENT FOR THE SETTING UP OF A COMMITTEE TO INVESTIGATE PEOPLE INVOLVED UNDERMINING THE ONGIONG PEACE AND DIALOGUE PROCESS IN THE STATE IRRESPECTIVE OF POLITICAL AFFILIATION.
In an apparent rejection to the federal government no fly zone order imposed on the state and total ban on mining activities, coupled with nonchalant attitude and poor handling of protracted security challenges in the state by the national security Adviser to the present retired major General Babagana Mungonu, the state House of Assembly yesterday at its plenary passed vote of no confidence on him .
It also recommends that the federal government without further delay should set up a high powered committee to investigate and review the security architecture of all the security agencies and the level of their intelligence network in the state, while the state government is also called upon to as a matter of urgency set up an investigative committee to probe people allegedly undermining the ongoing peace process in the state irrespective of their political affiliations.
These resolutions followed a motion raised by the House leader Hon Faruk Musa Dosara under matters of urgent public importance at the resumed plenary yesterday.
Hon Dosara who expressed dismay with the recent abduction of 279 Govt girls secondary school Jangebe in Talata Mafara local government area wondered how that ugly scenario happened in an area of not less than 100 metres from a military forward base in Jangebe without any hesitation or prompt response by the same set of military personnels calls for a serious concern.
Hon Faruk Musa Dosara further blamed the failure of the security agencies in the state in prompt response to distress calls and also faulted their mode of information intelligence gathering and sharing among themselves in case of any urgent attention in the state and other troubled states of the federation.
On the order of no fly zone and total ban on mining activities in the state imposed by the federal government the ranking member of the state Assembly wonderd why the state deserved these unwarranted laws by the central government adding that abduction of school children did not start from Zamfara citing Chibok in Borno,Dapchi in Yobe, Kankara in Katsina, as well as Kagara in Niger state but were not been penalised by the Buhari administration but only in zamfara now.
While rejecting totally these recent federal government decisions on zamfara, Hon Dosara called on the federal government to immediately rescind its decision to avoid further impoverishing the citizens devastated by the activities of bandictry in the state.
He further maintained that the abduction has instilled perpetual fear in the minds of the parents whose children were abducted and even those that have not experience the horrific act a situation he described as retrogressive to the educational standard of the state and called on his colleagues to do all the needful to bring the perpetrators of this dastardly act to book.
In their separate contributions both Hon Inbrahim Muhammad Naidda representing Gusau one, Hon Muhammad G.Ahamd walin Jangeru representing Shinkafi constituency,Hon Abdulnasir Ibrahim Gayari representing Gumi 2 as well as Hon Ibrhaim T.Tukur Bakura representing Bakura local government constituency expressed their outright condemnation to the abduction which they described as one attack too many in the country without proper checks from the federal authorities.
The zamfara state lawmakers therefore pointed an accusing finger to the NSA for not properly handling the precarious security challenges in the country with emphasis on zamfara which they alleged that the so called NSA has not for once paid a visit to the state to assess the security situation not to talk of salvaging it.
They also called on their senior colleagues from the national assembly particularly those representing zamfara state to replicate same view regarding the protracted security challenges of the state during their respective plenaries so as to have a common stand on the matter.
After careful and extensive deliberations on the matter the presiding officer of the House and speaker state House of Assembly Rt Hon Nasiru Mu’azu Magarya while commending his colleagues for their positive contributions thereafter read the resolutions and stand of the House for that matter and was unanimously adopted all the House recommendations.
The House also yesterday screened and confirmed the nominations of Hon Aliyu Muhammad Tukur Mafara Hon Abdulllahi Muhammad Gurbin Bore and Hon Ibrahim Magaji Dosara as commissioners nominees as requested by the executive governor of the state. Which is in line with the provision of section 192 sub section (1) and (2) of the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria 1999 as (amended)
The House also screened and confirmed the nomination of Members for the bureau of public procurement with two members Alhaji Usman Abdullahi furfuri and Alhaji Hamisu Danjibga representing NUJ zamfara state chapter in absentia.
