Nasarawa United returned to winning ways following a commanding 3-0 defeat of FC IfeanyiUbah even as the scorelines may not have reflected the resistance put up by the visitors. The NPFL Matchday 12 fixture was decided at the Lafia City Stadium in Lafia, Nasarawa State.
FC IfeanyiUbah had looked determined and solid as they dominated possession in the early minutes of the proceedings but the hosts ensured that the dominance did not count as they thwarted all their efforts.
Nonso Nzediegwu came close to openning scoring for the visitors from a low cross by Evans Obonda but his glancing header narrowly missed target from close range.
The Solid Miners began to grow in confidence as the game progressed, producing some beautiful exchange of passes from the midfield to put their opponents on the back foot.
Nasarawa had a breakthrough on 10th minute with a fine finish when Ikenna Ofor hit a shot from 30 yards beyond the reach of FC IfeanyiUbah’s goalie. Offor was set up for the goal by Adamu Hassan.
What could have been the second for the hosts was ruled offside by the centre referee after Hassan powered home a sumptuous strike off a well crafted pass by Katoh Haggai

Saidu Adamu was a forced substitute at the nick of half time after he was stretchered off the pitch due to injury. He was replaced by Andulrasheed Umar as Nasarawa United ran away with one goal advantage at the end of first 45 minutes.
It was a slow start to the second half as both teams were cautious to avoid unnecessary mistakes.
However, it was Adamu Hassan that found the back of the net again with a clever finish off a a fabulous assist by Reubben Nicodemous to double Nasarawa United advantage.
IfeanyiUbah players would have reduced the deficit but Ifejiofor was wasteful inside the box where he was totally unmarked but fluffed a glaring chance.
Even as both coaches made changes to fortify  their squad, it was Nasarawa United that benefitted again as Adamu Hassan volleyed home from outside the area. Anas Yusuf had knocked down an inviting cross from Chinedu Ohanachom with just seven minutes into stoppage time for Adamu to hit home.
