The battle by states in the Southern part of the country to rid the region of murderous Fulani herdsmen and kidnappers has moved to Edo state.
This time arrond it is women who led the movement to eject the murderous herdsmen.
Indeed, there was confusion in the Editing state capital on Wednesday as angry women took to the streets and blocked the Uromi Road.
It was in protests against what they called invasion of herdsmen on their farmlands and incessant attacks on farmers and their investments.
The women blocked the Abuja/ Auchi road with objects such as woods, tables and chanted songs referring to the desire to have herdsmen exit their state.
Many of the women allege that they cannot go to their farms any longer for fear of being kidnapped, raped or killed.
Some of the women were in their 60s and 70s.
They said the rape of women had gone on for too long unchallenged saying that it is time for the herdsmen to leave their communities.
