Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has bemoaned the sudden death of All Progressive Congress (APC) chieftain and former Minister of Information, Prince Tony Momoh, saying the deceased’s contribution to the development of Nigeria is invaluable.
Prince Momoh died on Monday, aged 81.
Governor Uzodimma regretted that Prince Momoh died when his statesmanly services are still required in the country, noting that Nigeria’s development story will not be complete without Prince Momoh’s contributions.
The Imo State governor said that Prince Momoh impacted the society as a teacher, a journalist, a lawyer, a politician, among other numerous ways he deployed his talent in service to community, state and nation.
Besides, Governor Uzodimma said Prince Momoh remained vocal and truthful in courses he was convinced in, and believed so much in a united Nigeria where equity, justice, fairness should be the guiding principle.
He said the APC has lost a dependable statesman, ally and consumate party man but that his legacies are there for all to see and learn from.
While commiserating the widow, immediate and larger family members of late Prince Momoh as well as the good people of Edo State on the sad loss, Governor Uzodimma urged them to find solace in the fact that the deceased led a good a life and touched many lives for which we are all witnesses.
He prayed God to grant Prince Momoh’s soul peaceful repose and comfort those he has left to mourn his demise.
