If you are a member of Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON) and if you think that the recent invitation extended to Mr. Tony Okoroji the embattled Chairman of the society will end at just an invitation by the Nigerian Police in Benin, then you need to read this.
A source that is very grounded on the controversy that dates back to December 20217 when a section of COSON members led by Mr. Efe Omorogbe, the manager of 2baba (Innocent Idibia), moved to impeach Okoroji to allow for a forensic probe of the society’s account said that the police have crossed all its Ts and dotted the Is in readiness to move the case to the next level, prosecution stage!Okoroji withbhis lawyer stepping out of police station in Benin this afternoon
“Anytime soon, all the accused persons and their accusers will appear in court to defend or substantiate their allegations.” All COSON staff mentioned in the allegation including all memebers too. So it is not only Okoroji that will appear in the dock even the ex-directors like Charlimo, Laolu Akins, Omorogbe making the allegations will also have their day in court. Police will soon extend invitation to them too to appear for questioning,” our source who refused his name in print because the case is still under investigation, said.However, while the anti-Okoroji ‘elements’ are pushing for the case to be taken to court, Okoroji supporters and diehards are said to be pulling the strings to get the Inspector General of police to order his men un Benin to ‘die’ the case at police station level like any other case. While all of these power show is ongoing, COSON members and observers are eagerly waiting to see if police will return a no case submission or prefer charges against the accusers. Whatever happens, all fingers are crossed in anticipation.
