Shehu Sani, Senator formerly representing Kaduna, at the National Assembly, has urged the federal government not to waste time in rhetorics but seek better ways of enduring the release of abducted students in Government secondary school ,Kankara?
Said he,”this is not the time for Nigerian authorities to waste time on empty words, regarding the abduction of the students of the Government Science Secondary School, Kankara (GSSSK), in Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State.”

Sani who was reacting to the statement by Boko Haram leader, Shekau claiming responsibility for the abduction of the schoolboys, warned the federal government to step up its effort in rescuing kidnapped students before the worst happened and freeing them became more difficult or impossible.

Sani, who once acted as a mediator between the Federal Government and the Boko Haram terrorists, while observing that the possibility of taken the hostages over the border of the North East, was high, admonished that this must not be allowed to happen and that it was in the place of the Nigerian authorities to ensure so, by moving quickly.

Writing on his official Twitter page on Tuesday morning, he argued that every second counts at the moment to secure the students’ release, adding: “If the abducted students are with the insurgents and not the bandits as purported, efforts must be stepped up to ensure that the students are not moved over the border or to the North East. And now, every second should count to secure their freedom by any safe means necessary.

“Insurgents are terrorists driven by an extremist ideology with a leadership structure, theocratic agenda and a global network. Bandits are clusters of terrorists and violent extortionists, without any ideological or religious inclination. Their agenda is ransom and dispossession of land.”
