The Chairman, House of Representatives committee on health, Dr Paschal Obi has declared that the Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma is doing a great and admirable job of steering the state to development and greater prosperity. Dr Paschal Obi who is the House of Representatives member representing Ideato North and Ideato South of Imo State at the federal House of Representatives , made this declaration during a courtesy call to His Excellency, the Execution Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma, at Government House, Owerri.
Hon. Dr Paschal Obi who is the house committee Chairman on health, led other members of the Committee on the courtesy visit in line with their oversight functions as the committee works on its project to have the federal government turn the federal medical center, owerri , into a first class University teaching hospital. To this, the committee avowed their commitments to transforming the already well preforming medical center into a center for further excellence by making it a University teaching hospital.
Receiving the House of Representatives committee on health members at his conference room, His Excellency the Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prof Placid Njoku who stood in for the Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma praised the diligence and hardwork of the committee members and assured them of the resolve of His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodinma to create a great and enduring mark in every sector and facet of the lives of the Imo citizenry. Describing the Governor, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma as a man with the Midas touch, Prof Placid Njoku said the response of the Imo State Government to the rampaging covid 19 pandemic was a testament to what informed and analytical planing can achieve as Imo State recorded very low outbreak of the scourge and has since adapted measures to stem any possible relapse now or in the nearest future. His Excellency the Deputy Governor gave an account of the health delivery structure been implimented in Imo state from the primary to secondary and to the tertiary health delivery organogram that has seen the state government puting in a seamless coordination between these layers of medical response and delivery even as health centers in the local governments of Imo State has since been furnished with state of the art ambulance and personel to effect immediate and effective response to health challenges of the people in the rural areas. His Excellency the Deputy Governor assured members of the committee of the great and hospitable disposition of the people of Imo State and the inimitable Goodwill of His Excellency the Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma.
The House of Representatives committee on health members present at the office of His Excellency the Deputy Governor included Hon Paschal Obi (Ideato South and North), Musa Bagos ( Jos South and Jos East), Amobi Akintola (Ayedire/ Iwo/ Ola- oluwa), Abass Adigun ( Ibadan South and East), Dr Samuel Adejare ( Agege federal constituency), Kingsley Uju ( Ohaji Egbema, Oguta, Oru West), Amos Owama ( Jaba/ Zangon Kataf), Benjamin Kalu ( Bende federal constituency) and the clerk of the house committee on health, Chief Boniface Emenalo.
Hon Dr Paschal Obi urged detractors of the present Government of Senator Hope Uzodinma to stop and join hands with the Government to lift Imo to a greater pedestal, also speaking, Uju Kingsley Chima enjoined all imolites to join hands with His Excellency Senator Hope Uzodinma who he described as focused on delivery of dividends of democracy to Imolites
