It is not all bad news or image as a Nigerian born United States Naval office has promoted positive image internationally as he received commendation from the United states for proper fund management.
For managing its Overseas Cash Disbursement Office very well, the United States (U.S.) Navy has given an award to Lieutenant Victor Agunbiade, a Nigerian.
$45 million (N17,378,550,000) and $23 million through Agunbiade and not a cent missed, was misappropriated or embezzled.

Agunbiade was commended for this accomplishment and was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Development Medal for his exemplary accountability.
The Navy said while serving as Disbursing Officer, Comptroller Department, Camp Lemonnier Djibouti from October 2019 to July 2020, Agunbiade managed $45 million (N17,378,550,000) in cash transaction well.

According to the Navy, the money accounted for approximately 70 per cent of its overseas disbursing volume.
The institution added that the Nigerian also maintained 100 per cent accountability of $23 million (N8,882,370,000) among six rigorous inspections and independent audits with zero discrepancies.
