
The governor of Kogi state,Yayah Bello, was among dignitaries present as the body of slain Nigeria Air force first female combat helicopter fighter pilot Tolulpe Arotile was interred today in Abuja Military Cemetery.
The event is being witnessed by top military brass and political leaders.
A moving tribute delivered by Group Capt (Rv) Dogo Gani, the Nigerian Air Force Chaplain, extolled the virtues of Arotile, who was killed on July 14 inside the Air Force Base, Kaduna.
The tragedy occurred when a former classmate of the late officer saw her and allegedly reversed to greet her. She was hit in the process sustaining head injuries.
The Force has however handed the friend to the police for civil prosecution having no valid drivers license at the time the tragedy occurred.
