EKSG to renovate 15 health centres

Ekiti State Government has commenced the renovation of 15 comprehensive health centres across the state, for people to get access to health facilities in the State.

Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, who made this known during the flag off ceremony of Ekiti Health Insurance Scheme in Ado Ekiti, added that the scheme would protect pregnant women, and children under five years.

Governor Fayemi reiterated the commitment of his administration to ensuring improved quality health care delivery to the people, saying that the health insurance scheme would guarantee access to health care for people with limited finances.

He explained that his government has increased beds in the isolation centre from 10 to 120, noting that government has also provided a mobile molecular laboratory for random testing for Covid-19, which has now extended to all the sixteen local government areas of the State.

The Governor described the health insurance scheme as “Adojutofo”and prayed that such would never be the people’s portion in Jesus name.

Governor Fayemi advised the people to follow the guidelines of Covid-19, such as keeping social distancing, washing of hands under running water, as well as using facemasks correctly, to curtail the spread of the dreaded disease in the State.

The Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Dr.Mojisola Yaya -Kolade said the State Government has registered about ten thousand Ekiti residents under the scheme.

Dr. Yaya-Kolade who posited that the scheme would improve the quality and lifestyle of Ekiti people, commended the government of Dr.Kayode Fayemi for its support at all times.

Dignitaries at the venue included the Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, his Deputy, Otunba ‘Bisi Egbeyemi, Wife of the Governor, Erelu ‘Bisi Fayemi, Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Dr. Mojisola Yaya -Kolade and representatives of various organizations.
