COVID-19: RCCG to hold Virtual Convention, cancels ordination of new pastors and transfers

For the first time since it’s establishment 68 years ago, the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has cancelled the Congregational yearly Convention which normally brings brethren all over the world together at the Redemption camp on Lagos Ibadan expressway.

Instead the yearly convention will be held Virtually where members are expected to participate by viewing via satellite from their worship centres.
Besides,the Church leadership has also put off the yearly ordination of Deacons, Pastors and other ministers of God in conformity with the restriction on gathering to curb the spread of the Coronavirus disease.

This decisions and others were taken in a meeting today held with Assistant General Overseers,Provincial Pastors and Assistant Provincial Pastors presided over by the National Overseer.

Details the decisions below:

Good evening dearly beloved, a meeting of National Overseer with AGO’s, PICR, PICPs and APICPs was held this evening and the following is the outcome of the meeting for our information…
1. No large gathering for the annual Convention of this year. It be held virtually.
2.Ministers conference starts on 30th July – 1st August.
3.Convention proper commences on 2nd August.
4. There will be no transfers.
5. No ordination for any category.
6. No creation of Province for now unless situation in the country looks better.
7. The convention can be viewed in any of our Parishes or individual houses.
