The list of the death of high-profile personalities in Kano, has risen once again, after what appeared a lull with that of Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), of Bayero University, Kano, Prof. Haruna Wakili.

Wakili was said to have died on Saturday morning at the National Hospital, Kano, according to the Registrar of the university, Hajiya Fatima Binta Muhammad in a statement, announcing the incident.
A former Commissioner of Education in Jigawa and one time a former Director, Aminu Kano Centre for Democratic Research and Training, Waikili, a Professor of History, specialised in History of Riots, Revolts, Conflicts, Peace studies, Democracy and Good Governance.
Recently, the cold hands of death, swept across the state, claiming the lives of highly-placed persons including traditional rulers, top businessmen, members of the academic community, a development, some suspected to be connected to the COVID-19 pandemic, but which the state government denied at a time.
