In spite of the accusation, which emanated from the Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON), that the Director General of the Nigerian Copyright Commission (NCC), Mr. John Asien, has not resigned his executive directorship of  Reprong, a copyright management organisation (CMO), and which has gone viral on most online medium, PMAN has come out to deny the allegation describing it as unfounded

The musicians’ body presided over by Mr. Pretty Okafor has this to say in a statement issued in Lagos on June 18 2020 “our attention has been drawn to an article recently published on Sahara Reporters, containing unfounded allegations of breach of civil rules leveled against John Asien the Director General of the Regulatory body for Copyright administration in Nigeria NCC.

“PMAN find these allegations not to be in-line with the truth according to documents made available to the Music Union attached herein.

“The evidence attached shows that Mr John Asien did follow due process in the disposition of his Civil duties contrary to the malicious claims and allegations which are completely baseless.

“PMAN urges the NCC Boss to keep his focus on the commission’s ongoing efforts to eradicate Piracy and to discard “SMEAR CAMPAIGNS “ known to be sponsored by Pirates and unscrupulous elements who seek to undermine the Commission’s commendable efforts in the Creative Sector

“Signed

PRETTY OKAFOR
PMAN PRESIDENT.”
