The Niger Delta Development Commission has been shut down.
This was contained in an internal memo issued today and signed by one Silas Anyanwu addressed to all directors on behalf of the management.
He said that all activities in the commission including on going matters are hereby shut down for the time being.
It will be recalled that the NDDC board has been engrossed in a battle of with with the National assembly committee overseeing its affairs on efforts to probe the activities of the board saddled with developing the Niger delta area of the country.
The Niger delta is producing the nations oil resources which account for more than 90% of its foreign earnings.
