Tragedy struck in Imo State on Monday as a Knight and former Director-General of the Imo Broadcasting Corporation (IBC), Sir T.C. Okere allegedly stabbed his wife of 50 years to death.
Neighbors were left wondering why such a high placed man could stab the wife of his youth in the tragic event, which took place at Imerenwe community in Ngor-Okpala Local Government Area of Imo State.
The murdered wife is said to have retired from Imo State Polytechnic, Umuagwo.
The true circumstances surrounding the incident are still unknown as of the time of this report.
The Imo State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ikeokwu Godson Orlando, confirmed that the crime suspect is on the run. Investigations are ongoing to ascertain the cause of the incident.
‘It is true that the former Director-General of the state-owned broadcasting corporation TC Okere allegedly stabbed his wife to death this morning and the command will soon commence an investigation into the matter, ’ the PPRO said.
