The Chinese Ambassador to Israel, Du Wei, was found dead Sunday morning inside his official residence north of Tel Aviv.
A spokesperson for Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed the news to CNN. The residence is in Herzliya.
Police are at the scene, but have not issued any official statement. Du Wei assumed his role as ambassador to Israel in February this year.
